Geir has co-authored several books on Norwegian and international tax law as well as articles in various legal journals. Further, he has been frequently used as a lecturer by companies, conference organisers and the tax authorities.
In 2008 Hole was the Norwegian National reporter on the topic ”Non-discrimination at the crossroads of international taxation” to the IFA-congress in Brussels.
Due to his international experience, Geir is fluent in English, Swedish and Danish.
Geir had many years’ experience as a legal advisor at Oslo Tax Office before joining Ernst & Young, where he was stationed in Oslo and London. He then joined Wiersholm, one of Norway’s largest and most prestigious law firms where he further developed his specialty areas.
Five years later he accepted a partnership in the law firm Bing Hodneland where he joined their special business law practice within real estate.
In the period 2008-2017 Geir was Norwegian Head of Business law and Tax in Grant Thornton Law Norway.
Practice areas
Geir’s primary experience is in domestic and international trade, taxation, company law, contract law and employment law.
He has acquired in-depth experience, working with smaller companies and with major listed corporations, within domestic and international tax- and company law. He has worked with many cross-border transactions, due diligence, corporate structuring and global establishments and re-organisations.
Further, he has maintained his specialist skills in the field of international taxation, including services for Norwegian and foreign companies with activities abroad.
Geir has considerable international experience. In addition to having worked in London he has consistently served international clients on cross-boarder issues and assignments.
